Local partners and programs

We are committed to building strong relationships and making a positive difference in local communities across our national operating footprint, particularly in our heartland communities. As such we have specific programs to support these locations.

Our Geelong Program

We have been part of the local Geelong community since 1954 – now supplying more than half of Victoria’s fuel needs. With a workforce of around 700 people, we spend more than $200 million each year in wages and services. We are proud of our ongoing work, support for and involvement in the Geelong and surrounding community.

Our local sports sponsorships

Local sport drives local communities which is why we support local grassroots sporting clubs to help them reach their destination and prosper. AFL, soccer, netball and cricket are the highest participation sports in our local area, so we partner with several clubs involved in these sports to make it easier for people (particularly children) to participate. We proudly support:

  • Corio Football Club
  • Corio Soccer Club
  • North Geelong Football Club
  • North Geelong Cricket Club
  • North Shore Football Club
  • Geelong Rangers Soccer Club
  • Lara Sporting Club
  • Geelong Soccer Club
  • Bell Post Hill Football and Netball Club
  • North Geelong Warriors

Northern Futures

The four-year partnership provides scholarships that help people experiencing mental illness or issues with substance misuse to remain in education or gain employment. The scholarships remove financial barriers to participation in Northern Futures programs.

Recently, Viva Energy enabled a participant to undertake a short course by providing funds for the course fees and materials as well as the interview and work clothes necessary for her to secure ongoing and sustainable employment in the administration area.
